Holy Week 2011: San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan
Sharing pictures from my hometown and other lenten activities of my family during Holy Week 2011
Our image of Christ was invited to be part of a Lenten Recollection at the House of Representatives...
Cleaning and preparing the image before the event...profiles of the image
Before and after capture...I feel guilty every time I tie the hands of the image...
Pictures during the Mass
Blessing the image...
More photo-ops...
Time for some cleaning and more preparations!
Year after year I always thought that San Jose del Monte, Poblacion is not progressing. It has been like that ever since I can remember and even if we only come back once or twice a year I still will not get lost because nothing much has changed...not anymore...
The City Hall (is that what you call it) besides the Parish had a major face lift. Across the street you'll see a new market, dry goods for bazaars and Ukay-ukays plus a couple of new restaurants. I find it strange though that they have hard ware stores in town but not even 1 is open on a Saturday...
San Francisco St. is still same old same old. This is our address here, where the remaining plot of land of my great grandmother is, supposedly not divided by her children because this is for the Dolorosa. My uncle told me that a lot has changed here (although it's not apparent to me). He said that it used to smell like pigs and chickens but now all you see are huge houses made of concrete.
Ang mga Manok ni San Pedro
Pet's of our neighbor who takes care of the lot whenever we are not there.
Masyado akong na-amaze...walang ganito sa bahay.
Hmmmm...
Dry sticks lying on the ground...will I be able to make use of it for my carroza decoration...hmmm...hmmm...

The Pabasa for the Kristong Gapos is once again sponsored by our neighbor Tita Leony. My family is really grateful to her for owning this yearly tradition...one less thing to worry every Holy Week.
Behind the lines..."import" chanters from Cavite starting the Pabasa.
I have never heard before the tunes/melodies they are singing. It's like they are crying but singing...very high notes...nakakatindig balahibo type...
