The Immaculada of CTK Parish

December 8th, 2013 Feast of the Immaculate Conception, however since the 8th fell on a Sunday, per Church ruling nothing takes precedence over the Sunday mass so the Feast is celebrated on the next day, Monday. It is a day of obligation, however if you attendad mass on a Sunday, you are good to go (it's like hitting two birds with one stone...)

A simple woman destined to be the Mother of the King of Kings

O God, who by the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, didst prepare a worthy dwelling place for thy Son, we beseech thee that, as by the foreseen death of this, thy Son, thou didst preserve her from all stain, so too thou wouldst permit us, purified through her intercession, to come unto thee. Through the same Lord Jesus Christ, thy Son, who livest and reignest with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen.

Image Details

The image looks antique, but I am not sure, looks can be deceiving. But one thing is for sure, the image is beautiful.

A simple halo, adorned with stars is best to complement a beautiful face...although I wish the necklace on the head was removed or studs were used similar to Our Lady of Antipolo. The way it was placed does not befit a pure woman such as Mary.

See looks can be deceiving, from afar it looks like antique gold embroidery (turned black through time) but it is not...a blue gray thread was used instead.

Mama Mary, I can't take my eyes off you...

Beautiful Immaculada, where is CTK getting its Marian images?

Entrance to the columbarium, simply beautiful, reminds me of the family mausoleum of the Escudero's in San Pablo, Laguna
