Christmas in our Hearts

Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year. It is also the time of the year when I can be super creative and play interior designer. This year, my motif is a play between christmas decors and materials not-necessarily considered christmas decors, combining them to come up with very unique displays. My brother called it hotel lobby-esque style. Although I wish I could have the same materials used inside the whole house (same decors, same colors etc), I have to follow my family's rule of re-using our old christmas decors and giving it new life (we do add on decors from time to time but we want to limit expenses because as we all know Christmas is the time of the year when money seems to flow out of one's hands as quickly as water does and secondly, because of storage concerns. It will be such a waste to discard decors after each use.)



Today I am sharing a photo of my belen in our altar. I used to create a tableau using my images of San Jose and Our Lady of Fatima, but this year I decided to change things a bit, following the motif I have in mind. Here you will see the image of the Baby Jesus on a bed made of garlands accentuated by dark pink/mauve phalaenopsis orchids.

Looking at the image of the Baby Jesus after a tiresome day truly relaxes me, in my head I hear Jose Mari Chan's classic Christmas in our Heart...
