The 7th 2000 Hail Mary's

September 21, 2013- My Family once again hosted the 2000 Hail Marys devotion in commemoration of the arrival of our image of the Blessed Virgin Mary and to pray for the souls of my Lolong and Lalang (mother side) who passed away in the month of September (they technically died on the same day, but different year. My Lolong died in the US in the 80's, US time of course and my Lalang died in 2004, if I am not mistaken, Philippine Time--compute the time difference and you will get the same day. Isn't it sweet and romantic? Anyway I digress...). We are now celebrating the 7th year anniversary of the image's arrival in our home.



Praying 2,000 Hail Mary's is a private devotion. It is a very powerful intercessory prayer. It is praying 2,000 Hail Mary's with our Blessed Mother to our Lord Jesus Christ. Combined with our faith and sincerity of heart, Mama Mary will intercede for us to obtain the graces or intentions we ask.

THE DEVOTION OF THE 2,000 HAIL MARYS

CLOSE TO MARCH 25, 1933, WHEN MONSIGNOR JUAN RIU WAS
FIFTEEN AND A HALF YEARS OLD, HIS CO-SEMINARIAN SAID, "RIU, THERE
IS A PIOUS BELIEF ASSURING THAT ANY GRACE ASKED FROM THE VIRGIN
MARY WILL BE GRANTED TO WHOEVER PRAYS THE 2000 HAIL MARYS."
THOSE WORDS REMAINED DEEP IN HIS MIND AND SINCE THEN, EVERY
MARCH 25, WHICH IS THE FEAST OF THE ANNUNCIATION, HE RECITED
WITH GREAT DEVOTION, THE 2000 HAIL MARYS. HE HAD ASKED THREE
FAVORS FROM OUR LADY: TO BECOME A SALESIAN, A PRIEST AND A
MISSIONARY. AND THEN, HE WAITED TRUSTFULLY FOR OUR LADY TO
GRANT HIS REQUESTS.

ON JUNE 27, 1935, HE MADE HIS VOWS AS A SALESIAN. ON JUNE 15,
1946, HE WAS ORDAINED A PRIEST IN MADRID, SPAIN. AND ON
AUGUST 30, 1952, HE WAS ASSIGNED TO SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO
AND STARTED HIS MISSIONARY APOSTOLATE IN THE POOREST SLUM.
DURING HIS 45 YEARS AS A PRIEST, HE HAD BEEN PROMOTING THIS
DEVOTION WITH GREAT SUCCESS. MANY PEOPLE, AS WELL, HAVE DONE
THE SAME DEVOTION AND THEY HAVE TESTIFIED THAT THEIR PETITIONS
HAVE BEEN GRANTED, SOME INSTANTLY WHILE OTHERS, AT A LATER
TIME.

A Solemn Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the request of the Vicar of Your Son on earth, we consecrate ourselves and our families to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and we recommend to You, all the people of our country and all the world.

Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us as You wish to accomplish Your designs in the world.

O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and Queen of the World, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King. Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully.

We come with confidence to You, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Make our hearts and homes Your shrine, and through us, make the Heart of Jesus, together with your rule, triumph in every heart and home.
