Belen in Antipolo Shrine 2007

December 18, has been our family's tradition to go to Antipolo during the birthday of a loved one, and this day is no different.

Of course being a Santo-enthusiast, armed with my digital camera, temporarily separated myself from my family and went around the church...on the right side of the church (the Antipolo Shrine is somewhat spherical) you'll see this belen tableau...

...the baby Jesus is not yet placed given that it is not yet Christmas (which is to be celebrated on the 25th), so this is part of the anticipation as the faithful tries to complete the 9 day Simbang Gabi (novena).

Nativity Prayer of St. Augustine

Let the just rejoice,
for their justifier is born.
Let the sick and infirm rejoice,
For their saviour is born.
Let the captives rejoice,
For their Redeemer is born.
Let slaves rejoice,
for their Master is born.
Let free men rejoice,
For their Liberator is born.
Let All Christians rejoice,
For Jesus Christ is born.
