In Honor of St. John the Baptist

I. O glorious Saint John the Baptist, greatest prophet among those born of woman, although thou wast sanctified in thy mother's womb and didst lead a most innocent life, nevertheless it was thy will to retire into the wilderness, there to devote thyself to the practice of austerity and penance; obtain for us of thy Lord the grace to be wholly detached, at least in our hearts, from earthly goods, and to practice Christian mortification with interior recollection and with the spirit of holy prayer.

II. O most zealous Apostle, who, without working any miracle on others, but solely by the example of thy life of penance and the power of thy word, didst draw after thee the multitudes, in order to dispose them to receive the Messias worthily and to listen to His heavenly doctrine; grant that it may be given unto us, by means of thy example of a holy life and the exercise of every good work, to bring many souls to God, but above all those souls that are enveloped in the darkness of error and ignorance and are led astray by vice.

III. O Martyr invincible, who, for the honor of God and the salvation of souls didst with firmness and constancy withstand the impiety of Herod even at the cost of thine own life, and didst rebuke him openly for his wicked and dissolute life; by thy prayers obtain for us a heart, brave and generous, in order that we may overcome all human respect and openly profess our faith in loyal obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ, our divine Master.

O God, who hast made this day to be honorable in our eyes by the commemoration of blessed John the Baptist, grant unto Thy people the grace of spiritual joy, and direct the minds of all Thy faithful into the way of everlasting salvation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

To Saint Anne

Good Saint. Anne, you were especially favored by God to be the mother of the most holy Virgin Mary, the Mother of our Savior. By your power with your most pure daughter and with her divine Son, kindly obtain for us the grace and the favor we now seek. Please secure for us also forgiveness of our past sins, the strength to perform faithfully our daily duties and the help we need to persevere in the love of Jesus and Mary.

Good Saint Ann, obtain for me an increase of faith in the great mystery of the Holy Eucharist. Help me to see in this great Sacrament Christ our High Priest, making real for me the saving grace of His death on the cross; feeding my soul with His Flesh and Blood so that I may live in Him and He in me; producing the unity of the people of God and gathering His Church together. By your powerful intercession with God, help me to center my life around the altar that I may inherit the promise of the Lord: "He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood, has life everlasting." Amen.

Laetare Sunday at Christ the King Parish Green Meadows

Laetare Sunday denotes the fourth Sunday of the season of Lent in the Christian liturgical calendar. This is the only time in lent when flowers are once again allowed inside the church and in the main altar.

Amang's Stainless Carroza

I pray and dream to one day own stainless carroza's...I dream to have one triunfal and one ochovado...iyon lang masaya na ako (hahaha maka-iyon lang as if it's that easy and simple)...ohhh why do you have to be sooooo expensive. Stainless or silver carroza's are the best carroza's for religious images..even if the gilded carroza's are more popular nowadays I still will choose a stainless or a silver one anytime. The look and feel is different if your image is atop one...gotta have it! Someday! Lord please please please make it happen...will it to happen...I want I want I want...

Because of my very vocal love for stainless/silver carroza's (I merge them but they are entirely different, please do not get confused) a loving friend took me to Amang's workshop. Amang is a relatively well known carroza maker of Tondo.


No doubt this is his house...I mean even his house is stainless pukpok...hehehe


A warm welcome, the image of Mother of Perpetual Help is being processed, block rosary crusade...Mother of Perpetual Help, please grant my wish...I know this is not a need but more of a want...but this I pray to have in service of God...please please please...


A carroza triunfal frame, relatively small at 6" x 8" feet estimated cost Php 200,000.00...kaching kaching my jaws drop and I scratch my head...this does not include the light posts...where can I get that money in 2 months time? (2-4 months is the turn around time for one stainless carroza)
