SJMV October Devotion 2012 Culminating Activity

October 28th--It was raining a bit when the carroza's left the house but upon arrival in the Parish, miraculously it stopped. The procession starts at 3 pm, not your typical time (within the day) for a procession because some will say it is still hot...but today it isn't...it was a bit cloudy shading us from the sun...it was just perfect for a procession...I was a bit worried with Ofel just recently leaving the country and with the rain showers minutes before...but I know I shouldn't be. Rain showers are blessings, holy water sprinkled from above. Praise God always!

The procession route this year was changed back to Masinag Avenue. Fr. Loddy, our new Parish priest advised it is better to bring the procession outside the streets of Masinag than inside the subdivisions lining it, the message of praying the Rosary is spread to more people that way. Another change this year are the sponsors for each altares or stops of the procession. Instead of homeowners, we have shop owners but still the family is given focus because these businesses are all family-run. Each mystery is represented by an altar. As agreed during the Worship Ministry meeting, we are only reflecting on 5 mysteries, the Glorious Mysteries.)

St. Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus; beloved spouse of Our Lady. St. Joseph, Pray for us!

After the image of Our Lady of the Rosary is placed atop her carroza, the procession started, roughly a few minutes after 3 pm (just about time, compared to last year).

Our Lady of the Rosary, a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary in relation to the Rosary. Devotion to Mary under this title was further strengthened when Pope Pius V declared a feast in honor of the victories experienced in Lepanto. In the Philippines, these victories were experienced in the Battles of La Naval. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!
