Cubao Cathedral, formally known as the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic church located in Quezon City, Metro Manila, the Philippines. It is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Cubao (taken from Wikipedia).
I have always wanted to see this parish especially a few years back with talks of the completion of the renovation works done in this church. Initially I thought it was somewhere near the Cubao-Araneta area, that's why I can't find it. It is located at #39 Lantana St., Cubao, Quezon City...I'd say the heart of Cubao.
Upon entering the church I can't help but look up, the ceiling and it's many arches are magnificent with all the details, and the repeated curves of the structure, immediately I imagined that this is wonderful venue for weddings. The design of the church, following the neo-classical tradition as I read in the newspaper before is clean and relatively simple compared to the Baroque tradition, in a way it is refreshing although its simplicity does not take away from the faithful the realization of the magnificence and grandeur of God.
It is a beautiful church, sometimes I assume that the city does not offer a lot in terms of uplifting the spirit, but it is more a case of knowing where to find it. Truly, this church is immaculate!
Hi! I'd like to know if this church is air-conditioned. Thanks!
