May 31, 2014- To close the 324th fiesta celebration of OLA Parish (Marikina), another procession was held this time including the Patron Saints of all the chapels under the Parish and the "sagala's" for the Flores de Mayo.
Prayer to Our Lady of the Abandoned of Marikina
Most holy Virgin, let not the joys of your blessedness make you forget the sorrows that afflict the earth. Cast a merciful glance on the suffering souls; remember those who struggle with adversity and with all your kindness wipe the lips stained by the bitterness of life.
Have mercy on those who loved one another but had to separate!
Have mercy on those who have no one to go to!
Have mercy on those whose are lost and clouded by anger and hatred!
Have mercy on the hearts that live alone in the shadows!
Have mercy on those of us who have so little faith!
Have mercy on the sick, the dying, those who are orphaned and alone!
Have mercy on those who are abused, discriminated and forgotten!
Have mercy on those who are dear to us!
Have mercy, finally, on the tears of those who are suffering, the supplications they make and help for the afflictions they fear!
Grant everyone hope and peace.
Amen.
Our Lady of the Abandoned of Marikina, Pray for us!
In Honor of Our Lady of the Abandoned
Devotees, Sagala's and Carroza's gather at the Plaza in front of the Shrine. Supposedly the procession should have started at exactly 7:00 pm but it did not...which is good for me since I had to drop by my seamstress for San Antonio's garb in the coming June 13th fiesta.
One Parish solidarity...Happy Fiesta!
Sagala's in their beautifully decorated arko's ...check!
The Hermano and Hermana Mayor watching the sagala's and the carroza's exit the Shrine
This year's Queen of the Sagala's
So busy outside...
The Various Devotions in OLA
1) Reina de las Flores (Mary, Queen of Flowers)

The Festejada Image
In my eyes OLA of Marikina keeps getting more beautiful and beautiful. Her face is the kind of face you can stare at for hours and never tire of. Being with her calms me, I forget what's happening around me...she calls me to pray and call out her name...
The Procession
Hermanos and Hermanas cue...
Procession stop-overs...the carroza of Our Lady of the Abandoned stops in front of houses with an altar erected for the Virgin.
